Ji Bong, DSSN (“Wisdom Peak,” Great Zen Master) is the Buddhist name of Robert Moore Ph.D. He is the Founding Teacher of the Golden Wind Zen Order, and head of the Golden Wind Zen Center. Ji Bong DSSN began studying Buddhism and Zen meditation under the Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1969 while at Yale University. In 1997, he received Dharma transmission and the title “Soen Sa Nim” (Zen Master) from Seung Sahn. Ji Bong DSSN is also the guiding teacher of the Blue Heron Zen Community in Seattle.
Zen Master Ji Bong has a long-standing interest in many subjects, ranging from film history to the connections of martial arts with Zen practice. He is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Southern California, where he teaches music theory and composition. He is also the father of three, and lives with his wife Jae-Hee Choi in Long Beach, CA.

Ann Pepper, JDPSN has been a student of Zen Master Ji Bong since 2002. She received inka (permission to teach) in 2015, and became a “Ji Do Poep Sa Nim” (Dharma Master) at the Golden Wind Zen Center. Ann also leads Zen practice at the Aikido-Ai dojo in Whittier, CA. A former newspaper reporter, she and her husband live in Seal Beach.
Roy King has practiced under the guidance of Zen Master Ji Bong for several years. He currently serves as the Head Dharma Teacher and Abbot at the Golden Wind Zen Center. Roy is responsible for overseeing the Center’s day-to-day activities and ensuring the continuity of practice.
Sensei Frank McGouirk is a Dharma Teacher in the Golden Wind Zen Order, and the head of the Aikido-Ai dojo in Whittier, CA. He has had a long association with Zen Master Ji Bong, with whom he co-founded the Dharma Kai Zen Center in 1983.
